I am Osvaldo Olmos. I currently live in Korea for a time that is yet to be determined. I am a self-taught photographer with 15 years of experience documenting events and locations around the world. Typically, I will travel to a new place and take photos or video of the area and share them with family and friends. Some photos I publish on image websites such as Shutterstock or Adobe Stock. Thanks to this I have published images in online publications such as Foreign Affairs Japan, The Fair Observer, and The Fort Lee Traveler. My images helped to illustrate current newsworthy events and narrate the story of our lives to populations around the world as well as serving as a record of my travels and explorations
During the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States I assisted an organization with crafting a social media message about ongoing efforts to continue operations during the pandemic. The message was designed to demonstrate to the community and to families what measures the organization had taken to protect employees from COVID-19 and how operations continued despite the pandemic threat. It was a very enjoyable assignment, and I learned many methods to publish and disseminate information online.
Currently I am a social media manager for another organization tasked with documenting organization events and uploading them to the organization social media page. I manage a team of four assistant social media managers whose task is to document events within their section. Each photo or video that is uploaded to the page is designed to fit a narrative that the organizational leadership would like to portray. Emphasis is put on always reporting the truth as genuinely and accurately as possible.
My goal as a photographer is to create images that will hold their own and stand the test of time. Images that can be used by future generations to describe how we lived our lives and what we did to cope with our day to day existence. It is also used to document how places and people change over time and how those changes influenced their future development.
